  • If you saw my pictures you would see me swimming at beautiful world class beaches, boogie boarding, playing Frisbee, hiking and picking mangoes, catching a huge dorado and grouper on a boat Las Olas hired!

“I completed the 30 day program a couple weeks ago and I can’t say enough about this awesome place. I just wanted to find a place that didn’t have any jerks working there while I detoxed. I have, in the past, left places and forfeited many ten’s of thousands. True, I was looking for a reason to leave. But who’s cool with paying exorbitant fee’s to get sick and then deal with profit minded ” recovery ” folks or jaded and underpaid staff? When I’m withdrawal, I’m ultra sensitive to uncaring attitudes! Well…I’m sure you figured out Las Olas gave me no such excuse! What I discovered was a married couple proprietor team that made me feel exactly like I was a guest in their home. Their intention was to love me better and refreshing is an understatement! When I felt better (or wanted/needed to go somewhere) they took me on vacation style outings.

If you saw my pictures you would see me swimming at beautiful world class beaches, boogie boarding, playing Frisbee, hiking and picking mangoes, catching a huge dorado and grouper on a boat Las Olas hired! We also often ate out after AA outside meetings and did I mention it was world class delicious Todos Santos restaurants and on the (recovery) house! Did I forget to mention the caring Doctors around the clock, awesome therapists, yoga 2x a week and massages? Additional staff to take you on walks or to the beach, make you something to eat at your discretion? OK, now for the best part…I went there to change my life, to save my life! The climate there could not be more conducive! The intensive but laid back recovery approach worked wonders for myself! Las Olas…your doing God’s work over there. Thank you and Thank you even more! (Did I forget to mention I got all this for a fraction of what I paid at US rehabs?)”

  • I’m going to preface this by saying I have absolutely no doubts that making the decision to go to Las Olas was the best decision I’ve ever made. Having always been someone who could “stop drinking on my own,” I never realized how much I needed the tools that Las Olas would provide me with to live a healthier, more fulfilling life for me and my family.

"I was originally looking for a few days of medical detox from alcohol but I completed 15 days of treatment. Having never stepped foot in a medical detox, treatment center, or AA meeting, I had no idea what to expect, but Las Olas Recovery Center immediately made me feel right at home. To be completely honest, Las Olas itself feels more like a vacation than a recovery center. And if you go in with an open mind, you will not only be given the tools to change your life with treatment, but you’ll actually enjoy the process.

Las Olas only takes on a maximum of 3 clients at one time, so you can be sure you’ll get all of the care and attention you need. You won’t be in a crowded space with a bunch of other patients like I’ve heard about with other treatment programs.

As far as cost goes, you will be paying a fraction of the price compared to facilities in the States or Canada - with only the best care and an experience you won’t forget. Each day includes various wellness activities from physio and massages to AA meetings and counseling. You’ll go out to dinners with the staff as well as enjoy delicious home-cooked meals.

The owners John and Lydia, are some of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. It instantly became apparent to me that they do the work that they do to help people from the bottom of their hearts and to give back. From the first phone call right until the end of my stay there (and beyond), I felt safe and taken care of. If there was anything I needed, whether it be toiletries, menu requests, or even someone to simply listen or give me some advice, they were always right there.

Their team of doctors and nurses are also incredibly kind, funny, and all-around genuine people. Not only did they make alcohol detox feel like a walk in the park, but they were there to ensure I was feeling good every single day going forward. Beyond that, they were always there to talk or take a walk on the beach or through the neighborhood to help raise my spirits anytime I was missing my family. I will forever be grateful to the entire medical team at Las Olas!

All of the therapists and counselors they work with are also amazing. You would have never found me in therapy before I came to Las Olas, but I was actually looking forward to every session during my stay. I could probably go on about their entire team all day but it’s something you have to experience first-hand.

Lastly, I appreciated how everyone at Las Olas encouraged me to find my own meaning of spirituality and what connecting to a higher power means to me. Whatever your beliefs are, you’ll be welcomed and encouraged to find what works for you.

Bottom line: If you want the tools to live a healthier life, don’t hesitate to choose Las Olas Recovery Center. I guarantee you won’t find another treatment center like it. I walked in looking for medical detox and I left both physically and mentally stronger, armed with the right tools to stay sober, memories I’ll never forget, and with connections that I know will last a lifetime."

  • I owe much to Las Olas and the community in the area. I believe in them wholeheartedly. I’ve never posted a review in my life, but feel like people need to know the value of this organization.

“I came to Las Olas Recovery circumspect and scared. I was living in MN and my life was being controlled by alcohol addiction. I was a working professional in the legal/real estate industry. Bar none, the best decision I’ve made in my life was to make the phone call to the center. The founder (John Davis) was prompt and sincere. Scared, I spoke to the founder and had family members do the same. We all came back with the same belief: this was a gamble. Addiction recovery is only as strong as the individual and the help you seek. The gamble paid off. This was a family setting based on on AA principles.

The facility is top notch, based on recovery principles that work. Daily, I worked the steps and principles with dedicated medical professionals who helped me immensely. I may be biased, but the work you put in pays off and I’ve found lifelong friends not only with the founders (John & Lydia), but with the recovery community cultivated in the area. Recovery is difficult and I’m still working hard at it. Anytime I’ve called, John and the recovery community has answered and steered me on the proper path. I owe much to Las Olas and the community in the area. I believe in them wholeheartedly. I’ve never posted a review in my life, but feel like people need to know the value of this organization. My life has been changed for the better because I made the call. If you are struggling with addiction, please consider Las Olas Recovery. Life can be changed.”

  • The doctors and nurses were so caring, charming, and friendly that I felt constantly cared for, and the therapist is extremely gifted. In summary, I am very glad I chose Las Olas, and I am confident anyone else will be as well.

“Las Olas has been a transformative experience for me. I researched facilities in the states and found them to be everything from punitive, sterile, and generic, to being embroiled in lawsuits and controversy. The problem with them, as with much of health care in the states, is they are focused on profit. I was not about to place my recovery in that kind of model. Las Olas is a family style sub acute facility. You will have close relationships with staff and clients, as well as the community of Pescadero and Todos Santos, all of which have a high level of wellness and health in mind.

The setting itself, among basil and tomato fields, with the sound of surf crashing in the distance, is therapeutic. The doctors and nurses were so caring, charming, and friendly that I felt constantly cared for, and the therapist is extremely gifted. In summary, I am very glad I chose Las Olas, and I am confident anyone else will be as well.”

  • John, Lydia, and the entire team at Las Olas helped me find my path to recovery and a life without drinking… If you are in the prison of addiction and are ready for real change don’t hesitate to reach out to Las Olas.

"I came to El Pescadero deep into an addiction to alcohol, I was in a dark place and had even contemplated suicide. I couldn’t see a way out on my own. John, Lydia and the entire team at Las Olas helped me find my path to recovery and a life without drinking.

The recovery house is beautiful with a view of the ocean and nearby mountains. With only 3 residents maximum it feels like an intimate family environment. With 24 hour doctors and nurses on site the detox process was carefully medically supervised. We attended daily A.A. meetings met with amazing therapists and learned about the disease of addiction through their education program.

All of this was interspersed with trips to the beach to surf, yoga, Pilates and weekly massages. Many times we had lunch or dinner at local restaurants. I never imagined a recovery program could be so much fun and filled with laughter and real joy. It was very hard to leave. I came back to the States with a clear foundation and a plan to continue with my 12 Step program.

If you are living in the prison of addiction and are ready for real change don’t hesitate to reach out to Las Olas. Today I am applying all that I learned there; my body, heart and family are healing with me. I am and will be forever grateful for my time at Las Olas!”

  • Unfortunately for me this is my third time in a rehab recovery facility. But fortunately for me, this time I went to Las Olas Recovery!

"Having gone to other rehab centers, I have firsthand knowledge and personal experience that other rehabs seemed to be more concerned with how many “intakes” they could bring in (people) rather than genuine concern for mine and others’ health and sobriety.

I can't say enough good things about Las Olas Recovery. John and Lydia are truly dedicated to sparing no expense to ensure the health and well-being of all who enter.

The kind of care I received was second to none, from the one on one counselors/therapists, to physiotherapy, massage therapy, yoga therapy, a beautiful ocean nearby to surf and swim in, first class medical care, empowering12 step meetings, excellent food, and the list goes on.

And get this, it's about half of the price of other recovery centers. (no kidding).

If you are serious about your sobriety, and you're willing to put in the work to do what it takes to get sober and stay sober (no matter what your addiction), Las Olas will give you the tools to get you well.

I can't recommend Las Olas Recovery more highly.

Thank you so much John and Lydia!

It works, if you work it!"
