How Does Experiential Therapy Work?

A trained therapist will use experiential therapy to help you grow as you start your path to recovery. Through experiential therapy, you’ll maybe go for a walk, create art, or act out scenarios through theatrics. Through new experiences, you'll learn to confront fear, anger, and other negative emotions and release them in healthy ways.

Through the experiences that you face, you’ll learn more about yourself. You may find it’s easier to explore emotions such as anger or fear through experiences rather than group therapy. Through these sessions, you’ll bond with your peers. You may even find that you’re enjoying yourself when you let down your guard. That’s another reason that this type of therapy is considered so powerful.
